Just Add Ink #234 ~ Just Add Baby!

The hardest cards in the world are baby cards to my way of thinking and I almost decided not to do this challenge and then I thought. . . "don't be a baby! this is why its a challenge" lol.

So the design team over at Just Add Ink are getting clucky because one of their team is expecting a baby real soon which is lovely news and there is no better way to celebrate than to use the big event as inspiration for paper crafting projects. . .

This is my creation:
Base card is Pistachio Pudding mounted with Whisper White and a piece of Pistachio Pudding Polka Dot paper from All Abloom Paper Stack. I  layered the ribbons for a touch of luxury and unfortunately the only ribbon that is still current is the White Organza Ribbon which I layered on Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon because the organza ribbon was a little lost on the white background and I wanted the connotation of layers ~ in the same way that we layer a baby's clothing. . . anyway the Organza Ribbon then forms a nice back drop below the Pistachio Pudding Stretch Ruffle Ribbon which retired with the 2013 Annual Cattie.

The sentiment is from Baby, We've Grown, stamped in Wild Wasabi Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock and coloured using the Light and Medium Calypso Coral Blendabilities pens. You will see that I applied Crystal Effects to the "baby" aspect of the sentiment to get it to pop and blend a little more with the other stamped images.  I cut the greeting out with the fluted shape from Apothecary Accents Framelit Dies.  The edges are daubed using Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink and mounted on an oval cut from the same coloured card stock and daubed with the same ink.
The duck and the flowers come from the Something for Baby stamp set (which have matching Framelits - yay!). These were stamped in Calypso Coral Classic Ink and the lighter flower in Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink and whilst I cut them out with the Framelit dies, I also fussy cut them as I didn't want any white edges.
I liked how the layers turned out and the pearls on the bottom corner are to bring to mind little buttons and all things precious!

Enjoy!
