Fancy Folds - Double Slider Card

Welcome back to our blog  hop this month with the Fancy Folds Design Team. Thanks for stopping by! We have had a busy month with the release of the Holiday Mini and this blog hop just snuck up on us. We are doing Double Slider cards.

You might have just come from Satomi's blog. Aren't these cards super cute?

This is my card this month:
It's a long slim card and I have to admit that I found it difficult to decide on a stamp set.  I followed Insideout Jeans YouTube tutorial which was really simple ~ the card is a Double Slider Card with Hidden Slider.  The card is for my nephew who will be celebrating his 3rd birthday in a few weeks time, he just got a new puppy and is puppy-crazy.

I used Thick Whisper White card stock and the panels were simply cut 1cm narrower on each side to accommodate the slide channel.
I have used the Bella & Friends and Pretty Kitty stamp sets.  All the stamping has been done using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the colouring of the stamped images was done with Stamping' Blends.  I used the following colours:

Dark Poppy Parade
Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler
Dark Pumpkin Pie
Dark Petal Pink
Light and Dark Granny Apple Green
Light Pineapple Punch
Light and Dark Crumb Cake
Light Smokey Slate
Ivory
Bronze
Colour Lifter

The puppies and kittens are so cute and I simply wanted there to be playfulness about the card. The puppy and balloon in the foreground has been fussy cut and dimensionalised to add to the dimension of the card and marry in with the puppy that rises with the balloon (which is partially dimensionalised) as it is stuck to the slider element to move with the double slide action of the card.  I simply cut a small channel in the front of the card with an exact knife.
The tree branch is from Colourful Seasons stamp set. I cut out a random pattern on a scrap piece of Whisper White and used it as a stencil for the sky and ground. I used Pool Party for the sky and Smokey Slate Classic Ink pads for the ground.
This photo angle gives you a little more insight into the dimension of the card. I wanted it to appear that the puppy wanted to get the heart from the parrot on the branch and used the balloon to get up the tree.

Both the turtle on the bottom slider and the bird on the top slider are masked stamped images from the Bella & Friends stamp set. In the set they are each with a puppy but I wanted just the single image on both sliders.
The card looks quite unassuming when the sliders are hidden. I love that we have been able to have some fun with the fancy fold this month and hope that you are feeling inspired too.

Don't leave us just yet - Aude has the cutest project to share.

Cheers and stay sparkly!

  1. Wow! This is fantastic idea! Not only its'a double slider but also the sliding thing lifts up the balloon and a dog. Thank you for sharing such a great idea.
