So great to have you back for another Fancy Folds Design Team Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Two Way Fun Fold Cards. I hope you enjoyed Satomi's beautiful project - I love how clever Satomi always is.
I followed the amazing YouTube Tutorial by Linda Bauwin which was super easy to understand. Here is my project:
I made a square card because I thought it would complement the stamp sets and the framelits best. I used the floral stamp set from Lovely Lattice (a Sale-a-Bration stamp set) and the sentiment from Forever Lovely (from the Occasions Cattie) - both of which were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I stamped the flowers twice on a scrap of Whisper White card and coloured the flowers with the Dark and Light Poppy Parade, Dark Cherry Cobbler, Dark Old Olive and Light Granny Apple Green Stamping' Blends. I then fussy cut the images.
Because reds are a difficult colour to modulate I removed a bit of the depth with the Stampin' Blend Colour Remover Pen.
The leaves were easier to blend and were a good contrast to the flowers and tie in with the Old Olive tab which folds across the card opening from the rear.
Layering Oval Framelits are brilliant for creating that focal point. Here the scalloped edged oval is cut from Basic Black card to marry in with the stamped sentiment and flower. Pearls were used to finish the project.
The mounting card at the back of the card is a square of Poppy Parade that marries in the colours of the flowers and contrasts sharply with the Basic Black and Whisper White.
I hope you are feeling inspired by this fold style. The fold speaks for itself and the Sale-a-Bration stamp set is a great set for so many cards and projects.
Don't leave us just yet, Nadine Schwede has a gorgeous project that highlights the fold perfectly!
Stay glittery!
