Beau Chateau Album (part 1)

Given that I shared the Beau Chateau Tin that I made on Monday I thought that I would continue with a theme of sorts and share the envelope album that I made with my talented friend and down line Lauren Colless a couple of weeks ago.

The album itself is made from six envelopes, card stock inserts and an external cover - but that kind of takes the romance out of it all! So a few more details will make it all the more appealing. . . We constructed and covered the cover of the album and made out own titles for the spine.  The Beau Chateau designer series paper is perfect for this shabby chic project.  The words "Memories - We do not remember days, we remember moments (Cesare Pavese)" come from the Beau Chateau paper series.

The frame is also an image from the Beau Chateau paper series which I cut out and mounted on Soft Suede card stock which I trimmed down to mirror the shape of the frame.  The floral images are also from the papers and I have Crystal Effected them to add a bit of dimension - of course I couldn't stop myself from daubing the edges first to capture that vintage aged feel. . .

The little piece of Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon sets off the beautiful blues of the designer series papers and adds texture to the project.  Else where in the project I have added Victoria Crochet Trim to give that luxurious feel that appeals so much to crafty people.

So each page inside is an envelope which has been trimmed on both sides - one to adhere to the spine of the album and the other to act as an opening to the "pockets" that photos and journals can be inserted into. . .

Here is a closer look at the "page pockets". I decorated each page with the Beau Chateau papers, distressed and daubed edges so that they married in with the shabby feel.  I also used the Scallop Trim Border punch, the Pinking Heart Border punch and Eyelet Border punch (not all seen here) to add a little pizazz to the project.  The scroll stamp is from Elements of Style one of my all time favourite stamp sets - I stamped the image with Marina Mist ink in a random fashion.

This is a page highlighting the chicken wire paper which is just so rustic and appealing. The floral image is from Elements of Style again, stamped in Soft Suede.

Beau Chateau Tin

I have been absent for a few days. . . had a migraine that lasted for three days - yay! Only a bit debilitating and then I hurt my lumbar spine lifting an esky and have been flat on my back for four days - yay! So I am up and about today with limited success but didn't want to miss an opportunity to join Pink Paper Paradise - Make it Monday link. . . so this is my little creation this evening. . . a trinket or treat tin.

I have been wanting to use the Beau Chateau designer series papers from Stampin' Up! for a few weeks now as I did a workshop with one of my talented team members Lauren Colless and have become a bit attached to the delightful shabby chic papers and colour schemes.

 

This is a wafer biscuit tin that I have covered with the DSP and then I have cut a few framelits - the Labels Collection from the Autumn Winter Mini - using more paper from the Beau Chateau range - daubing the edges with Soft Suede and Marina Mist (because they are some of my favourite colours!) and mounting the top frame (cut from Very Vanilla card stock) after I had shot it through the Big Shot with the Oval Designer Frame embossing folder.  These embossing folders fit perfectly in the Labels Collection framelits.

The stamped corset overflowing with flowers is from the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set which I adore!  I stamped in Early Espresso and coloured with Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers.  I popped the flowers with Crystal Effects so that they didn't get lost in the layout.

And of course it just wouldn't be an off the page project without a few roses. They are all made using the Fancy Flower punch and the Blossom Party die.  I made these with Marina Mist card stock daubed with the same coloured ink and the pink floral and chicken mesh designs out of the Beau Chateau DSP selection. . . I alternated the colours on the lid to contrast with the body of the tin.

The whole project has been set off using the Marina Mist Satin Ribbon - so luscious and shiny, and the Soft Suede and Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon which has a luxurious texture that looks rich and decadent!  A few jewels strategically placed and some Crystal Effects on the petals for moisture drops and voila today's project.

Happy Birthday Mum. . .

It's my mum's birthday today and given the past few years of ill health I am delighted that she has reached this year's celebration!  I thought that I had better make her a special card to mark the occasion so zipped this card up early this morning.

The base card is Blushing Bride which will be retiring in August - I love this pink because it isn't too prissy and has almost an oyster tone to it and is so rich looking on every project.  I have used Twitterpated DSP and mounted it on Marina Mist.  I stitched around the edge really roughly with matching blue thread.

The rose wreath is a stamp from the Apothecary Art - I stamped using Bet Black Staz On on Whisper White and coloured in using Stampin' Write markers - Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red and Pear Pizzazz and a blender pen to merge the colours. I cut around the stamped image as I wanted to use the smaller sized Labels Collection Framelit die so that it was proportionate to the card size - the label is mounted on Blushing Bride.

I made the large flower out of Blushing Bride using the Blossom Punch in the Autumn Winter Mini.  The edges were daubed with Riding Hood Red to tie in the colours.  The Marina Mist roses are made with the Fancy Flower punch.  Leaves in Pear Pizzazz made with the Little Leaves Sizzlet die.

The new Pleated Satin Ribbon from the mini has been mounted on Marina Mist Satin Ribbon to give it a bit of pop on this busy card.  I love how easy the new pleated ribbon is to use and it makes every project look special.

I highlighted opposite corners using Pearl jewels and you can see that I Crystal Effected the roses after I coloured them to give the stamped image a little glamour.

I made two smaller roses for the top corner using the Fancy Flower punch with Blushing Bride and Marina Mist card stock

Another Bag Tag for Convention. . .

The week has flown by, but fortunately I have a lot to show for the time that I have been able to steal to do craft.

I have done more bag tags for my friends who are attending the Stampin' Up! Convention with me in May (only 41 sleeps to go) and here is one for your to see:

I love using fabric with these tags. This is Spice Cake Designer Fabric again. I attached it to the chipboard cut out of the bigger tag from Two Tags Bigz die from Stampin' Up! using sheet adhesive which was easy and fast.  Edges daubed with Soft Suede ink.

I stamped out a leaf from French Foliage using a rock and roll technique in More Mustard and Soft Suede on Very Vanilla card stock. I had heat embossed some gold across the Vanilla card stock with the French Filigree background stamp first though as I wanted a random bit of gold through the image to make a contrast.  I cut the stamped image out then daubed the edges with Sot Suede ink and crumpled it so that it would look like a leaf. 

The large maple leaf is from the Leaves #2 die. I heat embossed the More Mustard card stock using gold embossing powder and the French Filigree background stamp before I ran it through the shottie. I crumpled the leaf and daubed the edges with More Mustard ink. The words are from Oval All and stamped in Early Espresso. 

I wanted to add a bit more than the standard brads and hardware so the brad that you see on the bottom left hand corner of the tag is from Stampin' Up! Antique Brads range.  The chain is from another retailer as I needed to match the antique brass colour of the brad.  The oval frame is from Stampin' Up! Hodgepodge Hardware which is unfortunately retired

More Bag Tags for Convention

I am back in the game! Have managed to do some craft everyday this past week and am feeling in control of my preparations for Convention which is only 41 sleeps away. . .

Here is another bag tag which I have created for one of my friends who is attending with me. I have tried to match colours, embellishments and design with people's personalities.

So once again I have used the Spice Cake Designer Fabric (and adhesive sheet) along with the Two Tags Bigz die.

Made the roses using the new Blossom Punch from the Autumn Winter Mini  from Pool Party card stock - yum! Daubed the edges in Pool Party ink. Heat embossed the leaves in gold on Soft Suede card stock and used co-ordinating ribbons.

I love the autumnal tones of the Spice Cake Designer Fabric, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Pool Party are such a great combination. Sweet Set! 

I daubed the edges of the fabric with Soft Suede ink just to tie in the colours and the reverse of the tag has Soft Suede card stock as the background instead of the fabric but I can't show you the back as it would give away who the tag is for. . .

And of course Hodgepodge Hardware features again. . .

Happy Days. . .

Had a wonderful day today with some of my stamping friends. . . didn't get too much accomplished but learned a heap.

Michelle from Pink Paper Paradise helped me understand a little bit more about the art of blogging which I am quite inept at. 

I am still in Convention preparation mode so I have worked out two more swaps. . .

I am obviously in an autumnal frame of mind! 

This card uses the French Foliage set which I have stamped in a rock and roll technique using Cajun Craze and Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Early Espresso and Cajun Craze and Soft Suede on Very Vanilla card stock.  I have then shaded over the entire card with More Mustard. The stamped greeting from Elements of Style is stamped in Early Espresso on vanilla and mounted on Cajun Craze using the two smallest framelit dies from the Labels Collection in the new Autumn Winter Mini.

The new Apothecary Art stamps are divine and make card making easy.  This is stamped in Staz On black and coloured using Stampin' Up! crayones - Rose Red and Always Artichoke.  I have then blended the colours with an aqua pen and Crystal Effected the roses.

Bag Tags for Convention

45 days and counting. . . Stampin' Up! Convention is creeping up so rapidly and I am a little daunted by how much I still have to do.  Slow and steady wins the race though so I will simply work through the swaps and other projects that I have planned and try not to think about how soon the event is. . .

I am in the midst of making Bag Tags for the members of our team who are attending as a little thank you gift for sharing Convention with me.  It is also a practical present as every attendee gets the same bag and it is nice to be able to distinguish our group at a glance!

So here is a photo of one of the styles and I will upload all of them over the coming weeks. . .

This was quite a simple project using the Two Tags Bigz Die, I then covered the front with Spice Cake Designer Fabric - I used adhesive sheets with the fabric so that I could adhere it to the chipboard without bubbles or damp spots.

I have used two discontinued products - Hodgepodge Hardware label mount and the Life Definitions stamp set.  I love hardware and can't believe what a limited variety Stampin' Up! currently have.  Fingers crossed that there will be some nice new hardware in the next Ideas Book & Catalogue.

I have tied ribbons around the key ring to tie in with the theme and will add a few trinkets before I package them up for the glaz.

Of course I daubed the edges of the fabric with Soft Suede ink.  The colours in the fabric are Pool Party, More Mustard and Soft Suede.



I have made the rose using the Big Shot Blossom Party original die with More Mustard card stock which I daubed with More Mustard ink.  I have created water droplets with Crystal Effects.

The leaves are detailed with gold embossing powder using the Delicate Doilies stamp set on Soft Suede card stock.  I have punched the leaves out using the large oval punch and then roughed up the edges with scissors so that they looked more like leaves.  I wanted to add some bling to the leaves without taking away from the fabric and embellishments.

The sentiment was stamped using Early Espresso on Vanilla card stock as I wanted the words to be clear and easily read.  I tore around the edges and daubed using More Mustard to tie in with the theme. I stuck the embellishments on using TomBow glue.
