You may have just come by from the lovely Gina's blog, wasn't her project sooooo beautiful? This is my project this month:
I followed the easy to understand YouTube instruction video from Dawn Griffiths. and made a square 6" x 6" card.
I have featured the soon to retire Petal Pallet Stamp Set (a real favourite of mine) and Hardwood Stamp. The base card is Thick Whisper White card, mounted on a square of Real Red and the Basic Black to frame up the card.
The aim was to have a stark contrast between the background and the stamped images and I thought I accomplished this with the heat embossed Hardwood stamped image on the Basic Black. I heat embossed using Versamark and Clear Embossing powder.
The main stamped image in the centre is stamped on Whisper White card using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and coloured using the Light and Dark Poppy Parade, Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler and Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends.
I fussy cut the flowers and leaves and adhered them directly to the background. I wanted it to appear as if the roses were tumbling across the card. Of course to appeal to the eye I needed to use an odd number. Seven flowers didn't seem like enough but I worried that nine is too many. . .
The sentiments are from the same set and I simply inked up part of the sentiment for the "love you". I cut the sentiment out using the Beautiful Banner Framelit Dies.
I plan to use the card for a birthday coming up next month. I love this set and will really miss it as it goes so well with colouring and plain stamping.
I used the Layering Circles Die Cuts for the interlocking feature. The interlocking facets of my card are quite fine compared with the one that Dawn created in her YouTube but I wanted the stamped roses to be the focal point. I even tried to piece together the leaves on the edges of the circle to maintain the impact of the images.
I hope that you have found some inspiration in this fancy fold. It's an easy but impactful design and great for all occasions.
Don't leave us just yet, my friend Aude, from France has a stunning card to share!
Until next time, thanks for stopping by, we love sharing with you!
Stay glittery
